Located near the ski slopes of Happo Sakka, Hachi is a stunning, seven-bedroom house in the Japanese Alps. Designed in true Japanese-minimalist fashion with ample woodwork, full-length glass walls and sophisticated interiors, Hachi is straight out of a magazine. It is a luxurious, family-friendly accommodation with plenty of amenities such as a ski room, lounge, Japanese-style sunken bathtub, BBQ and a piano. The chalet is close to ski slopes, hot springs, and strawberry-picking farms. You can even avail the free transfers to Hakuba Village that runs from morning till late-night.
Hachi has five, spectacular bedrooms that are fitted with modern comforts such as central air-conditioning and heating, plush double or twin beds for a night’s rest and a TV lounge in the master bedroom. You will find that each bedroom allows spectacular views of the panoramas around Hakuba. For comfort, the bedrooms are furnished with either a study space or a chaise lounge. There are two additional guest rooms that can even accommodate children or teenager. Four bathrooms, one of which comes with a Japanese-style bathtub, have modern necessities like vanities, showers, toiletries and more.
Hachi stands majestically amidst a gorgeous landscape teeming with a dense jungle that can be observed right from the comfort of the living room. Fire up the BBQ grill for some delicious, fresh food and the chef can even assist with the same. Skiing is the most famous activity here in Hakuba, especially with Happo One, the famous ski resort, so close to the chalet. Head over to natural hot springs for a comforting and relaxing soak in naturally-hot water.
The chalet is spread over multiple floors allowing guests to enjoy ample privacy and more room to entertain their guests. On the main floor, you have a generous living and dining space that is open-plan while on the upper-level there is a media room and a second dining area. The main living room features floor-to-ceiling glass walls that overlook the forest laden under a blanket of snow in the winter or autumn leaves drifting to the ground during fall. The beautiful interiors are the epitome of elegance with warm lighting, plush seating with a sectional and a fireplace, a piano, and chevron-style wooden floors.
Right from the entrance, you will be greeted by a whiff of the mountain air infused with a lovely woodsy aroma. The paneled-wooden walls, and intricate ceilings are all a fantastic addition. The kitchen is open with a breakfast bar, it is fully-equipped with a cassette gas stove, coffee machine and more. Upstairs, the media lounge is comfortable and cosy owing to the thermostat and you can kick back on the couch and watch your favourite movies on the widescreen. The hills beckon from the large windows as the entire chalet is flush with sunlight streaming in unrestrained.
From day tours to a private trip to the Hakuba Strawberry Picking Farm, the guest services at Hakuba are exceptional. You can request the concierge to make bookings at a restaurant so you don’t need to worry in a foreign land. A visit to the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is another great perk of staying at one of Hakuba’s properties.
