A newly-opened chalet since December 2019 is Donguri House, which located in the city of Furano in Hokkaido, Japan, beckons as spick-and-span homey holiday accommodation. Spanning 162 sq meters in floor size, Donguri House consists of 3 bedrooms which can sleep up to a maximum of 8 guests. Its cosy interior is designed primarily in wood and touches of concrete for certain tranquil modernity, ensconced within a uniquely-shaped structure for its exterior. Donguri House is located about 45 km from the Asahikawa Airport.
Donguri House has 3 bedrooms, spread over 2-storeys of the accommodation. The first bedroom is located on the first floor and is configured as 2 single beds that can be fused together into 1 king bed, with another double-bed to boot. Meanwhile, the second bedroom that is located on the upper floor comes with 2 single beds that can also be joined together as 1 king bed, while the final bedroom which is also on the same floor is fitted with 2 single Japanese futon beds that can be joined as 1 king futon bed. All 3 bedrooms come with their own ensuite bathrooms, which have been equipped with 2 bathtubs, 1 shower, bidets and also washing machines. The bathrooms are spruced up with floral wallpapers to enhance its quiet simplicity and clean lines.
The chalet features a garden and terrace which guests would be pleased to chill at. There is also a free parking spot in front of the home entrance, and all around, guests would be enchanted by the gorgeous snow and white scenes that abound especially during winter.
The interior space of Donguri House starts with its living room that is fitted with leather sofa couches around a wooden table, which is perfect for relaxing and conversations. Parquet flooring dominates here, and adjoining this space is a single-facing long table as the main dining space with high chairs. Just behind is the open kitchen area dressed in dark mahogany settings for its cabinets, while equipped with the full set of amenities like microwave, toaster, rice cooker, refrigerator, stove top, and coffee machine, among others. Upstairs, guests will find a second living hall with flat-screen television and couches, overlooking the outdoors through its framed window openings.
The hospitality at Donguri House begins with the guest house manager who is capable of conversing in English, Chinese or Japanese in explaining about the house facilities and every travel detail about Furano that guests wish to know. Housekeeping duties for Donguri House are performed every 3 days or can be customised upon guests’ request during check-in. Complimentary WiFi connectivity is provided, while for laundry needs, guests can count on the washer and dryer that are also provided. There is also an indoor ski storage area at guests’ disposal and is located at the entrance area. Guests would also be pleased to know of a ski pass sales point that is available.
There is no shortage of places of interest that are easily accessible from Donguri House. First up is the Prince Snow Resort Furano that is 1.1 km away, while the Windy Garden is about 2.8 km away. The Furano Ski Area Kitanomine Zone can be reached in 5 minutes, and the Highland Furano Onsen is another must-see attraction that guests could drive out to in 10 minutes. Also not-to-be-missed is the Lavender Farm Tomita in another short 20 minutes. There are plenty of other spots too including Furano Delice, Cheese Factory, the Furano Winery and Campana Rokkatei, Fashion Centre Shimamura, and Furano Marche. Although there isn’t a nearby beach in Furano, however, guests could easily head to and hop on the Ski Terminal and Gondola Station that is a 5-minute walk from Donguri House.
